Jayapura, 11/3 (Jubi) – Persipura Jayapura held Home United FC of Singapore to a 1-1 draw in the city state.
The Black Pearls were a goal down after Yasir Hanapi scored for the home team in 25th minute but Persipura forward Ferinando Pahabol found an equalizer to secure one point for the visitors.
Persipura mounted pressure in the first half. Winger Tinus Pae feed a cross to Boaz Solossa, but the captain’s shot was blocked by United goalkeeper Syahril.
Home United finally found the back of the net when Yasir Hanapi drove home a cross.
In the second half, Persipura improved their rhythm of game, mounting attacks from the wing and center. Pahabol was sent in as a substitute in 56th minute to add to the fire power and 18 minutes later he managed an equalizer.
With this result, Persipura remain on top of Group E with total score of 4.
