Jayapura, 17/3 (Jubi) – Persipura Jayapura striker Boaz Solossa will miss the team’s AFC Cup game against Maldivian champions New Radiant on Tuesday (18/3) after picking up two yellow cards.
Persipura coach Jacksen F Tiago said Solossa’s absence is a big blow for the team.
“We know what he did for the team. But he has also been absent in several games of ISL. Even though he won’t play, he took part in the training to motivate the other players,” Tiago said at a press conference on Monday (17/3).
He said the captain’s substitute has not been determined it yet.
He declined to comment on New Radiant, saying he only thinks about the preparation of his team and how to beat the rivals to get three points.
New Radiant coach Ismail Anil said the team’s loss from Churchill Brothers served as a motivation to beat Persipura and that the players were ready. He also said Persipura was an outstanding team with good players. (Jubi/Arjuna/rom)
