Jayapura, 7/2 (Jubi) – Chairman of House of Representative of Papua (DPRP), Deerd Tabuni said to resolves the problem of violence in Puncak Jaya the security apparatus do not just arrested peoples arbitrarily. If Police used a law, the procedure must be clear.
“This country have Law, so it must not be arresting people arbitrarily. Arrest someone must match the procedure, so that the laws in this country are really fair. Papua is different from other areas. Papuan Peoples are not like people in other areas.” said Deerd, Friday (7/2).
He added, the law should be enforced, but it does not mean the Act have no limit. There must be a better way.
Deerd claims that he has been coordinating with MRP, and has planning to go to Puncak Jaya to meet the West Papua Freedom Movement groups. But first, he will meet religious figures, customary peopels, community and local youth.
“Then how can we do a dialogue with communities or groups from the opposition there. The plan later, the dialogue will discuss the problems that occur and gives the understanding. However that the opposition are our brothers, “he said.
So for that, she asked a security apparatus that does not add the army forces in Puncak Jaya, because it could make the community more panic and the opposition will angry. “We want the area always safe and conducive,” he said. (Jubi/Arjuna/Frans)
