Jayapura, 17/4 (Jubi) – Readers of tabloidjubi.com reacted to a fight between between Persipura coach Jacksen F Tiago and Persebaya captain Greg Nwokolo during a post-match press conference, slamming the naturalized Indonesian international as a trouble-maker.
The story about the scuffle received 2,947 hits, with one reader, Patrick Manufandu, branding Nwokolo as a failure.
“Greg has a bad moral character. Such a player does not deserve to be in the national team. Greg is an example of the failure of the naturalization program by PSSI. The national team players must not only have good skills but also good characters,” Manufandu wrote on Wednesday (16/4) at 01:12.
Another reader, Ajang Saepudin said that this matter should be dealt with by the Indonesian Soccer Association (PSSI).
“Foreign players have to show good examples to Indonesian players and must not be arrogant. If there are problems, let PSSI deal with it. Do not take matters into own hands,” Saepudin commented on Tuesday (16/4) at 16:51.
“The biggest mistake done by PSSI is to naturalize unprofessional players like him. He should have been deported,” another reader, Herry Alcantara D’chiaz wrote on Wednesday (15/4).
Marenggi Leandro Misteta commented with a little satire that sometimes a soccer player acts like a martial athlete.
“It is a mirror of Indonesian football. Sometimes a football player wants to prove himself as a martial athlete when conditions permit, ” he commented on Wednesday (15/4).
It was not the first time Nwokolo has been involved in a fight. In the last season, when he played for Arema, Greg and his tandem, Christian Gonzalez were involved in a verbal exchange with two Persipura players Liem Jun Sik and Yoo Jae, from South Korea after the match against Arema at Mandala Stadium that ended 1-1.
The dispute started after Gonzalez gave his middle finger to Lim Jun Sik.
“You’re a national team player. Your action is improper, ” Lim Jun Sik told Gonzales at the time.
Gonzales then headed to him and both had an argument. This situation provoke a reaction of Yoo Jae Hoon and Grek Nwokolo. Both were trying to defend their friends. Luckily, other players from both teams calmed them. (Jubi / Arjuna/ Tina)
