Jayapura, Jubi – Papua Governor Lukas Enembe, through the Expert Staff of the Governor for Community and Development, Ani Rumbiak, said that refer to gender-based human development report 2015 and 2016, the involvement of women in Papua provincial parliament is 12.96 percent.

“Female life expectancy was 66.72 percent, men 9.85, while average length of male school 6.62 percent and expenditure per capita of women 3.694, and men 9,702,” said Enembe  June 16.

To overcome the limitations of Human Resources (HR), he said, the provincial government is required to encourage each stage of planning until evaluation and intervention are included in the Medium Term Development Plan (RPJMD) and the preparation of the Working Budget Plan (RKA).

“We hope that Papuan human resources can compete with regional challenges such as Asean economic community, information and communication technology,” he said.

Assistant for Economic Affairs and Papua People’s Welfare Elia Loupatty requested that the mapping of women’s social problems be a reference in women’s development policy.

“It is hoped that the results of social mapping problems of women can be used as a profile book of Papuan women,” he said.

He considered, the mapping of women’s social problems is an attempt to identify and understand the social structure that exists in society.

In addition, women’s profile books can be used as a basis for developing Papuan women’s policies and programs that are appropriate to socio-cultural conditions and enhancing cooperation between government and community institutions (kastom and religion) of Papuan women. (*)
