Jayapura, Jubi – Persipura enlisted 27 players including two foreigners to compete in Torabika Bhayakara Cup 2016.
General Chairman Benhur Tommy Mano told reporters on Wednesday (16/3/2016) that Persipura has sent the application and the list of players and 10 officials to the Committee as requested.
Asked about 25 local players, he said the management gave opportunity to Papuan youngsters to grow.
“We will give a lot of opportunities to Papua youngsters to be more improved. We also do regeneration, so that the existence of Persipura would keep running by more relying on Papuan players,” he said.
Further he added the formation of players might be changed for ISC or ISL. “But now we are more focused for additional young players, and to meet the quota of foreign players, Asian or non-Asian. Later, we’ll see what coach wants, and we are trying to fulfill his need,” he said.
In separate place, Persipura Media Officer Bento Madubun told Jubi there is no change for the coaches. “It remains the same. Coaches are consisting of Head Coach Osvaldo Lessa, Assistant Coach Metusalah Dwaramuri, and Physical Trainer Lidyo de Souza Rangel Neto, Goal Keeper Coach Claudio de Jesus. And Rudy Maswi is remaining Persipura Manager,” he said.
Madubun further explained of 27 enlisted players, there are two who are under recovery process, namely Lukas Mandowen and Ruben Sanadi.
