Jayapura, (16/2) – After securing two points in their Borneo tour with draws against Mitra Kukar and Persisam Samarinda, the ‘Black Pearls” are finally back home on Monday (16/2). All players are ready to face their next home match.
“We are proud to be able to gett two points in the Borneo tour matches. Now we are ready to for home match against Persiba Balikpapan and AFC elimination match against Churchill Brother Sport Club of India,” Persipura assistant coach Christ Leo Yarangga told tabloidjubi.com on Monday (16/2) at the Sentani Airport, Jayapura Regency.
The team will evaluate their performance and try to improve.
A soccer observer and coach of Cigombong Putra, a First Division club of Persipura, Karel Rumaropen, said he respected the courage of Persipura coach Jacksen F Tiago to field new players such as Dominggus Fakdawer, Beroperay and Ricky Kayame.
“Though they have limited players, Persipura were able to steal points and I thought after two or three more games, Persipura will return to their own form,” he said, but added that Persipura’s mid-field performance needed to be improved.
Marthen Rumere, a former playmaker of Mandala Jaya club from First Division Club of Persipura, added that it would be better if Imanuel Wanggai and Nelson Alom to be starters in every match.
“Because Nelson Alom has the ability to supply the ball to other players and to be a goal scorer. His long-range shots were sometimes going directly to the goalkeeper,” Rumere said.
He said Ricky Kayame will be in better performance if he continues to play.
“Kayame will be more calm in front of the goal,” he said. (Jubi/Dominggus A Mampioper/rom)
