Jayapura, Jubi – Six foreigners who attended a seminar held by the Evangelical Church in Tolikara last month are founders of the local branch of the Evangelical Church in Indonesia (GIDI) , President of the Synod of GIDI in Papua, Rev. Dorman Wandikbo said.

Wandikbo was questioned  during at Papua Regional Police Headquarters on Monday (08/03/2015).
as a witness in the July 17 Tolikara incident, which killed a teenager named Endi Wanimbo band injured 11 others, as well as the burning of dozens of stalls and a Muslim prayer house.

He said 37 questions were asked for four hours and one of them was related to the presence of six foreigners in Tolikara.

Earlier, the news media reported on the presence of the six foreigners, saying they might have entered Papua for nefarious purposes.
“They are all missionaries and a founder of GIDI. Each year, we always invite them and it is our honor to have them. So, what have been written by the media is not true, ” he told Jubi on Monday (03/08/2015).

He continued that the six foreigners have met all visa requirements and their arrival has also been reported to the Papua Police.

Until now, the police have examined 68 witnesses for the incident of Tolikara. Two of them have been named as a suspect. (Yuliana Lantipo/ Tina)
