Jayapura , 27/12 ( Jubi ) – Four teams from eastern Indonesia will facing each other in qualification round of Inter Islands Cup tournament ( IIC ) next year. In addition PSM Makassar, three teams from West Papua, Persipura Jayapura , Persiram Raja Ampat and Perseru Serui was joined in same group, Sulawesi / Papua zone .
Tournament held by PT . Liga Indonesia before the Indonesian Super League (ISL) is planned to take place in 2014 , 10-25 January , involving 22 football club from ISL, a highest division of Indonesia’s football competition.
CEO of PT Liga Indonesia , Joko Driyono said , IIC competition has three rounds, zone qualification, bigeight and final. In the qualifying zone will be divided four regions , Sumatra, Java, Kalimantan and Sulawesi/Papua. In big eight round, will be divided into two groups with home tournament format and round robin system .
“Two clubs In Sumatra with home and away system, only one club will be passes first round. In Java zone followed by 12 clubs and divided into three groups with round robin system. In the Javanese zone, there are three clubs will qualify . Borneo zone followed by four clubs , one with a round robin competition . While in the zone and Papua Sulawesi followed by a group of four clubs the round robin system . Of the two zones , there will be two teams that qualify , ” said CEO of PT Liga Indonesia , Joko Driyono as reported by some media .
Persipura’s coach assistant, Mettu Dwaramuri said , the speed and agility of Persipura’s young players will being a weapon to break down the competitor’s defense .
” The game in ISL are now increasingly relying on speed. Of course we need to be able to compete and break the opponent’s defense . The way is to expand the use of young players ” Mettu said . ( Jubi/Arjuna/Victor Mambor)
