Jayapura, Jubi – Legislator of Papua, Deerd Tabuni reminds people in Jayapura City and surrounding areas do not accuse people from certain areas as perpetrators relate to crimes spread in the city.
He said, the accusation can trigger friction in society. Anyone allows doing evil if there are opportunities, intentions and other factors.
“Do not always suspect people from certain areas or tribes when there is a crime, it is like giving an opportunity to those who do not want Papuan people to get along, to provoke the situation,” Deerd told Jubi on Wednesday (May 24) .
He said accusing certain parties as perpetrators of crime not only can trigger friction between groups of people, but also can deal with the law.
“It should not be ignore, the police should arrest the perpetrators and make sure motive behind it,” he said.
He calls for all people in Papua to remain calm, maintain security, order, not hooked on various issues. Do not let the relationship of kinship, friendship that has been working well broken just because of the issue that exhaled by irresponsible people, he said
DPR Papua promised they would form a team to respond to the situation of growing violence and crime in Jayapura city.
“If not later this month, early next month, we will facilitate a big meeting to bring all parties, including community leaders, religious, police, government, customs and other related parties,” said Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives of Papua, Edoardus Kaize.
He called on Papua regional police, regional military chief command and his staff to increase effectiveness of anticipating possibilities of crimes and creating security and comfort in the community. (*)
