Jayapura, 23/12 (Jubi/Daily Post) – Six teachers, four Grade 6 pupils, a parent and a school committee member from Santo’s Prenter Primary School have made a great success of their eight-day exchange trip made to the pioneers of the school in Australia.
Prenter Primary School was built on the sweat of the late Australian, Mr Prenter, in the 1980’s when he was doing missionary work at Hogharbour Village.
For many years after his death, his son, Ian Prenter, has been constantly making donations and regular visits to the school.
The school head, Kalo Pakoa, who led the group on the trip, said this was the first time the school had organized an outside cultural tour – and it was self-funded.
He said throughout the trip they were privileged to experience the climate in Australia when exploring the three states: Canberra, Sydney and Melbourne.
They went sightseeing and did some shopping around the towns, made visits to Lake Hum, the Botanical Gardens and the War Memorial at Albury Modonga in New South Wales.
