Merauke, Jubi – Dr Nevil Mustika, the Secretary of Merauke Regional Health Office, stated two positive COVID-19 patients have recovered and were allowed to return home after undergoing medical treatment at the Merauke Public Hospital.
“After the results of the laboratory tests in Papua and Jakarta, the two patients were declared negative. Thus, they were allowed to return home because they have recovered.
However, despite provided with an information sheet (of COVID-19), Nevil said the two patients still have to do self-quarantine for 14 days at home and do social distancing from anyone.
Similarly, the patients under-surveillance number 2, 3 and 10 allowed to go home. A patient under-surveillance from Jagebob who sent to a referral hospital had a negative result of COVID-19 after being tested.
“So, the patient can go home. I already contacted medical staffs from Jagebob to pick up the patient,” he said.
In the meantime, Merauke Regent Frederikus Gebze gave appreciation to medical staffs who have done their best for taking care of the patients until they recover and be able to go home.
“I ask everyone to continue to follow the government’s call for not gathering in public or leaving house for unurgent matters,” he asked. (*)
