Jayapura, 18/3 (Jubi) – The impressive performance of Persipura Jayapura midfielder Imanuel Wanggai during an AFC CUP match against Maldivian champions New Radiant  on Tuesday (18/3) drew praise from Persipura coach Jacksen Tiago.

Wanggai scored two goals in Persipura’s 3-0 victiroy against New Radiant, prompting a comparison with Liberian midfielder  Zah Rahan Krangar.
“I am not Zah Rahan. I just followed the instructions and fulfilled the trust of the coach,” said Wanggai said after the match.

He said he and his teammates always tried to do their best on the pitch.
“Our opponents were one of the best teams. So, we worked hard to earn the best result and make sure that Persipura will be qualified to the next round,” he said.

Persipura’s coach, Jacksen F. Tiago said New Radiant played well but Persipura managed to curb the movements of the opponents. “We appreciate our players. They can neutralize the opponents’s attacking, “said Jacksen.

He also thanked fans for their support.
“I’m not too surprised by this result because we fought hard for it,” he said. (Jubi/Arjuna/Tina)
