Sentani, Jubi – Jayapura Regional Government provides temporary accommodation in a hotel for paramedics who treat COVID-19 patients at Yowari Public Hospital, Jayapura Regency to prevent the transmission of the virus to their family members at home.

“I instructed the hospital management to record their staffs who handle the COVID-19 cases. Their work is risky because they have direct contact with the patients. On the other hand, they have to consider their family members at home (that need prevention of the transmission),” said Regent Mathius Awoitauw on Wednesday (1/4/2020).

The regent also assured that the local government would provide an incentive for these paramedics. “They have worked hard in treating the patients. Therefore, they deserve to get the incentive for their dedication.”

Meanwhile, the Director of Yowari Public Hospital Petronela Risamasu, when confirmed by phone, claimed that the hospital management had booked rooms in a hotel for their paramedic. “We have booked four rooms for a specialist doctor, a general practitioner, and nurses in the emergency and isolation rooms.” (*)
