Jayapura 30/1 (Jubi) –  Papua Police’s allocation for Legislative General Election security fund ( Pileg) and the Presidential Election for 2014 has been approved Rp 57 billion from the 200 billion asked. The statement above was confirmed by Chief of Papua Police, Inspector General of Police Tito Karnavian to reporters at the Papua Police Headquarters last night.

“For the security funds, the National Police Headquarters( Mabes) approved 57 billion from 200 billion proposed. Even so, It is being reviewed and evaluated because we ask 200 billion for the election, legislative election and presidential election. And we are given only 57 billion.” said Tito, Thursday (30/1 ).
Tito further explained, the budget proposed by military police about Rp 4 trillion for all of Indonesia yet it’s only given Rp.1 trillion.
“Apparently, 57 billion is not enough. I hear it will be added again. If not,  probably the rest we will ask for the support of the local government, regency and city. The funds is used to charge Shifting Forces, the cost of logistics security, and the security of voting place etc,. ” he said.
Tito said, “Ideally, the funds should be Rp. 200 billion, but funding has not been approved down. It’s just planned giving us Rp.57 billion. If we need more funds for emergency, we will ask the support of local government. “
Tito also hoped that Chief of Regency Police will ask for Mayor and Regent supports.
“We recommend to get support from the Mayor of Regents for this deficiency.” he said.
“In particular, getting supports from the local government itself, he has already submitted the funds to the Government of Papua and West Papua.” Tito added.
” If I am not mistaken, I think Papua province will allocate Rp. 15 billion and West Papua province will be Rp. 9 billion,” he said. (Jubi/Indrayadi TH/Tina)
