Papua Police investigates murder of four Nduga residents

Jayapura, Jubi – The Directorate of General Criminal Investigation of the Papua Police is currently investigating the killing of four residents of Nduga Regency in Mimika Regency, allegedly committed by three civilians and six Indonesian Military (TNI) soldiers last Monday, August 22, 2022.

“The victims were mutilated, the heads and both legs were cut off, put in a sack, and dumped in the river at Pigapu Village, Iwaka District, Mimika Regency,” said Papua Police General Criminal Investigation director Sr. Comr. Faisal Ramadhani in Jayapura City on Sunday, August 28, 2022.

According to Faisal, the civilian perpetrators, namely Andre Pudjianto Lee aka Jeck, Dul Umam, and Rafles, have been arrested and are undergoing examination at the Mimika Police Station.

“As for the six TNI personnel, we are still coordinating with the Military Regional Command,” he said.

From the results of investigations, three victims have been identified as Arnold Lokbere, Rian Nirigi, and Leman Nirigi, while one other victim’s identity is still unknown.

“The four victims were lured by the perpetrators to buy AK 47 and FN weapons for Rp 250 million,” said Faisal. (*)
